Unitrade Management Services (UMS) is a voluntary trading organisation established in 2001 with the aim of providing a unique and comprehensive business solution to independent wholesalers and retailers in South and Southern Africa.

UMS describe its business model as one that offers the benefits of a total franchise offer, including a comprehensive range of products and services, but without the associated costs. Today UMS, headed by CEO Jad Pereira, is the largest independent voluntary trading association (measured in terms of member sales out), in South Africa.

UMS members trade under the brand names Powertrade (wholesale and hybrid outlets), Food Town (retail and hybrid outlets), Best Buy (both wholesale and hybrid) and Best Buy Express or under their own brand as Trading Partners. The Group hosts over 240 member stores, distributed across 5 African countries.

In order to ensure the business remains not only successful, but also sustainable in its quest to ensure the success of the independent entrepreneur, as of November 2017, UMS has restructured its business into a consolidated holding company to be known as Unitrade Investment Holdings (UIH). This business is divided into two operating entities: UMS & Best Buy (voluntary trading associations comprising independently-owned businesses), and Consolidated Store Holdings (previously independently-owned businesses, now merged with UMS to form a group of corporate-owned stores)
